How hated can one family be? Quite a lot, it turns out. In 2007, Louis Theroux spent a summer with the Westboro Baptist Church community, known for its offensive ministry. He accompanied the Phelps family as they traveled the country bearing homophobic placards – and reveled in their notoriety. In 2011, Louis returns to the Phelps family once again, where he finds a community growing even more cult-like – and a family facing uncertainty in this Westboro Baptist Church documentary.
