Inside Our Minds

The award-winning documentary series focusing on neurodiversity returns. It’s estimated that 1 in 7 British people are neurodivergent. But many of them don’t know it. Presenter Chris Packham, who was diagnosed as autistic in his 40s, looks at ADHD and dyslexia. He meets four contributors and gives them the opportunity to show the world what ADHD or dyslexia means for them.

Episode 1: ADHD
Up to 1 in 20 people has ADHD, but Chris still feels the condition remains misunderstood.

It’s thought that 1 in 20 people in Britain has ADHD, but Chris Packham still feels that the condition remains misunderstood. He meets two people frustrated that that the people in their lives don’t fully understand what having ADHD means to them. Teaming up with top filmmakers, animators and graphic designers, they create films which explain to family and friends how they’re truly feeling inside.

Episode 2: Dyslexia
Chris focuses on dyslexia which he feels is frequently ignored and often misunderstood.

It’s thought that as many as 1 in 10 people in the UK are dyslexic, making it the most diagnosed type of neurodivergence. But despite this, Chris Packham feels that dyslexia is frequently ignored and often misunderstood. He meets two dyslexic people who team up with top filmmakers, to create evocative films which explain to family and friends what’s really going on inside their dyslexic minds.

Series 1:

Episode 1: Finding a Voice
Chris Packham helps an autistic comedian and a non-speaking man find their voice.

Since sharing his own autism spectrum disorder, naturalist and presenter Chris Packham has been flooded with messages from other autistic people. By teaming up with top creatives Chris helps a group of autistic people discover what’s really going on in their minds. He gives a non-speaking autistic man the chance to take a message to the world and helps an autistic comedian connect with their mom.

Episode 2: Inside the Autistic Mind
Chris works with visual creatives to bring autistic people’s ‘interior world’ to life.

Chris Pack ham meets fellow people with autism spectrum disorder and helps them to create short films to reveal what’s really going on inside their minds. Chris meets Anton, a teaching assistant and trance DJ and Ethan, a 19-year-old student and aspiring rapper. He helps them make films to reveal to their friends and classmates how they feel about change and hypersensitivity to noise.
